OceanExplorers brings to students a truly and complete experience as a marine biologist. A marine biologist is a multi-disciplinary person so all students will go through a wide variety of subjects including marine biology, marine ecology, and physical oceanography. Classroom time takes place in the form of workshops and laboratories tightly coordinated with the outdoor education and activities. You'll experience how nature works through fun, hands-on marine science explorations. You will return empowered with a clear understanding of ocean ecology, marine biology and marine science. Hands-on discoveries abound in Southern Europe marine coast and help you find answers to some of the most amazing mysteries of life.

OceanExplorers field activities include: underwater experience in different Portuguese and Spanish marine reserves, an introductory SCUBA experience or a complete certified SCUBA level, marine science laboratories in University dedicated research institutes, exploration and active participating in on-going Marine Biology research projects, personalized visit to one of greatest aquarium in the world – Oceanário de Lisboa. Trekking, stand up paddle and surfing in one of the best spots of Southern Europe, beach activities and much, much more.

OceanExplorers instructors are marine biologists and are with the students during the entire program. As marine biologists, the staff have a marine science background and are thoroughly trained in Lifeguarding, CPR and First-Aid. The entire OceanExplorers staff is dedicated to providing educational, unique experiences and good, SAFE FUN.
