Thank you for your interest in our OceanExplorers marine adventures.

OceanExplorers is based in Portugal. It was founded by two passionate marine biologists for curious-minded people who have a desire to experience ‘what is like to be a marine biologist?’ and to explore great places that Southern Europe - Portugal and Spain - have to offer. The founders João Franco and Nuno Vasco Rodrigues are marine biologists who have dedicated their lives to the ocean since they were born: ‘We recognized that young explorers need opportunities to supplement traditional classroom learning with real-life experiences’.

Today as professional marine biologists we are able to share with you our marine biology career through a unique experience in a fun and safe environment. Our programs are dedicated to providing the educational background, under/on water exploration skills, personal talents and real participation in on-going European research projects allowing students to live and experience what is to be a marine biologist and naturally becoming ambassadors of the marine life. On the top of that the program offers one priceless adventure through the Portuguese and/or Spanish language, culture and leisure moments.

You and your ‘marine biologist’ mates will take full experience of a Marine Biology expedition; you will explore the biological wonders of the oceans and islands, enjoy breath-taking scenes and learn the basics of ecology of our oceans. You will even be part of official scientific research projects contributing with your own observations. You may take your SCUBA first experience or get your certification and 'dive-in' to the fantastic reefs of a worldwide recognized marine reserve, and brilliant marine forests. Because marine biologists also enjoy leisure times, you learn how to surf in the best waves of Europe and trekking among the most beautiful landscapes of Southern Europe.

Prior experience is not necessary. Our programs will develop your skills for ocean and sea exploration and allow you to discover your potential. You will face team challenges and exceed your expectations as you master new activities in exciting marine biology environment or enjoy the feeling of ride a wave on a surfboard.
