All the programs are centrally located in the community within easy reach of full medical facilities, including emergency care. All the programs include activity specific insurance, including diving or surfing insurance depending on the chosen program.

Breakfast is served/prepared in the dorm facilities/marine station between 8:00 and 9:00am, depending on the days' schedule. Students then participate in lectures, on-site lab activities or head out to field sites. Lunches are picnic style when students are in the field. After programs for the day are finished, students head back to dorm facilities/marine station for dinner, or eat out at a local restaurant. Evening programs include hands-on labs and workshops or social activities.

OceanExplorers is located 60 minutes from the Lisbon International Airport. Transportation to and from the airport is included in program tuition as long as students arrive inside our designated time frame. On arrival students meet our OceanExplorers marine biologists at the predefined meeting point. Students are then transported to our facilities in Peniche. On departure students are transported to the airport about two hours prior to their flight. OceanExplorers staff will accompany students through the check-in process and watch as they walk through security. Throughout the program adventure students are transported to and from activities and the airport in passenger vans. Details will be provided with your registration materials.

Most of students that fly to OceanExplorers camp in Portugal are minors and are unaccompanied, however, depending on the student's age and the specific airline company, the airline may classify them as an Unaccompanied Minor. Each airline sets its own policies and regulations regarding children traveling unaccompanied by adults. Some airlines require that unaccompanied children travel only on nonstop flights. Others may require an additional fee at check-in. Most airlines will want to know the name, address, and phone number for the person responsible for the unaccompanied child at both the departure and arrival airports, in addition to emergency contact information. Airlines' travel and age restrictions vary widely so please consult with your airline of choice to confirm your student's travel status. If your student is classified by your airline as an Unaccompanied Minor, and an OceanExplorers staff will be required to pick-up or drop-off your student at their gate, arrangements will be detailed.

Tuition for all programs includes lodging, meals, admission to all attractions, study materials, lecture fees, equipment, SCUBA diving gear, instruction and books, surf gear and classes, 24-hour supervision and transportation during the program including transportation to and from the Lisbon airport. Additional spending money may be brought for souvenirs and/or other items. No more than 80€ should be necessary. Final payments and paperwork including transportation details are due on or before 30 days of the start program. Applications are accepted after these dates where space is available. Deposit fee are due with on-line application to hold a space (mandatory). Available payment methods are credit card/PayPal. Many students pay the deposit fee and/or half or full tuition fee (at once) during on-line application, which there is no additional fees for. However, if you choose to pay the balance later, there is a 3.5% fee that is applied.

A deposit fee is required for join an OceanExplorers program. Deposits are made online in order to secure a space in the program. Early application is suggested due to the reduced available places to join the adventure. Upon receipt of your application you will receive a final confirmation via email with all the details. Later you will be emailed a full registration packet, containing general information (equipment list, rules & regulations, etc.) and forms to complete and return. If you submit your application within 30 days of the start of the program, the full tuition amount must be paid.

Deposit fee is non-refundable. Tuition is refundable until May 30_th 2017 due to cancellation fee of 100€. Cancellations must be submitted in writing/ email and received by the date stated above.
